Esther H. Kim is a Term Faculty Instructor at INTO Mason. She serves as the Language Course Coordinator and instructor for EAP 101 and has taught a variety of support courses in the International Year One (INYO) program and Academic English program. She has also been the Special Programs Coordinator and established the Workplace English Program for the Housekeeping staff at Mason. In addition to teaching, Esther is also a member of various committees that strive to develop curriculum and programs within INTO Mason.

Esther obtained her B.A. from the University of Virginia where she earned a double major in International Relations with a concentration in Latin America and Spanish. She earned her M.A. in TESOL at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. Prior to teaching at Mason, she worked at Prince George’s Community College and Northern Virginia Community College.

She was born in Korea but emigrated to Brazil with her family when she was only a year old. At the age of 13, her family immigrated to the United States and now has no plans to immigrate anywhere else. Having lived in multiple countries, Esther learned many languages – a passion that continues to this day as she attempts to reach her dream of being a hyperpolyglot. She enjoys backpacking and hiking.
