Christina Brady teaches English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses at INTO Mason and serves as the Associate Director, Pathway Programs and Global Partnerships. In this role, Christina teaches many different courses, and manages the day-to-day operations of the International Year One (INYO) program, enabling multilingual and international students to achieve their academic and language goals, through high quality programs and innovative curricula.
Courses that Christina enjoys teaching include Language Support for Business (EAP 108), Language Support for American Cultures (EAP 102), Enhanced Composition for Multilingual Writers (ENGH 121/122/100), and Communicating Across the Disciplines (EAP 506). Teaching these courses is rewarding for Christina because she can help students think about their majors and major classes, she can teach students how to study language patterns, and she can witness her students becoming more elegant with their English over time.
Around campus, Christina loves eating lunches in The Globe and at Ikes, and getting bubble tea at Argo Tea Shop in Fenwick Library. She also enjoys swimming at Mason’s awesome aquatic center, and sometimes you might even see her power-walking around the campus for exercise in her trusty walking shoes. Mason Korea is a special place for Christina, as she visits the Korea campus yearly, and she enjoys connecting the Korea faculty with the Fairfax faculty through curriculum and special programs.
Christina’s professional areas of interest include faculty development, peer mentoring, launching new programs, branch campuses, public-private partnerships in higher education, and bringing digital instruction techniques into the classroom. She has a ‘visitor chair’ in her office so students and colleagues can always stop by for a chat, or a chocolate. Don’t be a stranger!
