Currently the Senior Course Coordinator and English Language Faculty with the Academic English program, Jane Kirsch has taught classes at many levels at INTO Mason and its predecessor, the English Language Institute (ELI), since 1999. She also coordinates Level 7 of the Academic English program and manages the procurement and distribution of faculty textbooks.

Jane first taught English to Japanese children and adults when she lived in Japan after college. Her three years of working there honed her sensitivity to the linguistic, cultural, and social challenges of living in another country. In Northern Virginia, she has also done extensive academic tutoring and editing with individuals who are visually impaired.

With a passion for culture and language, Jane has a BA in Anthropology with a minor in Linguistics from The College of William and Mary and an MA in English Linguistics from George Mason University. While at GMU, she also earned graduate certificates in TESL, Assistive Technology, and Conflict Resolution, and she is currently working on a graduate certificate in Learning Design and Technologies with a concentration in e-Learning.

Jane is a member of TESOL and WATESOL and has presented at both organizations' conventions. She is deeply committed to the values of professionalism, respect, integrity, and lifelong learning that both organizations promote.
